What!? I'm Not That Old, Am I?

Yesterday, on the way home from my in-laws, Babygirl asks, "Dad, will you take me somewhere and teach me how to drive?" To which he responds, "Why? You still have a couple of years before you can drive." She then says, "I can get my permit next year." I swear after she said that my mind went into overdrive: "What is she talking about, she's only 13 she can't.......WHOLLY SHIZNITS, she turns 14 in two weeks and that means she'll be 15 in a little over a year...no freaking way!!" My mind is still having trouble wrapping itself around this idea. What the hell? I was just 20 not too long ago, and she's almost 15!!! This, my friends, is why my blog is named what it is, moments like these when I'm forced to realize I am indeed a mother. And of a teenager no less.

So Mark took her and gave her a first driving lesson, in his Ford pickup which has a standard transmission. He said it went well aside from all the stalling and drifting into the other lane while trying to shift gears. She is determined to learn how to drive it which makes me proud because I never learned how to.

This is just too strange. My baby, driving.
